Burning & Safety Instructions
All my candles are made using professional grade Soy Wax, it is an all-natural wax & is kosher certified & Vegan friendly. It is a beautiful, creamy wax, usually white however some fragrances can slightly discolour it. Be assured this has no affect on the candle. All-natural Soy wax burns well & has a very good scent throw, hot & cold. Please remember that some fragrances are a lot stronger than others.
Soy wax has a memory therefore when you first light your candle, it must be lit until the wax pool covers the entire surface (about 2 hours), this will teach the candle to burn evenly across, improves scent throw & extends the burning time. Candles should not be burned for more than 4 hours at a time. Discontinue use of a candle when 1cm of wax remains at the bottom of the glass. Once your candle has burnt to that 1cm, the wick base can be removed & the glass can be washed & repurposed. TIP: Place glass into freezer for 20 minutes, the wick base & remaining wax can be popped out gently using a knife.
Always keep cotton wicks trimmed to approximately 5mm, wood wicks trimmed to 3-5mm. When lighting a wood wick, light with candle on an angle, light at both ends & close to the base, you want the whole wood to light. You may need to do this a couple of times. Think of it as a very small fire, sometimes you need a little patience. If during burning a wood wick candle for a long period you notice the flame getting too low, it may be necessary to extinguish the flame & once cooled, tap off any excess ash or burnt wood along the top of the wick. The flame will return to its proper height.
It is perfectly safe for the crystals to sit in the wax while burning your candle. The flame is a great way to cleanse crystals so it will be wonderfully energized & recharged for your use. When wax no longer covers the crystal, you can take it out & rub off the wax with a cloth, you could even rub it off with your hands as soy wax is a natural moisturizer. Be careful when removing your crystal as it will be very hot, allow to cool before handling it. However, the dried arrangement should be removed prior to burning, especially if it is too close to the wick.
Keep candles away from any flammable materials when lit. Do not leave under air vents or near a breeze. Please watch small children around a burning candle & keep away from pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always leave at least 10cm between burning candles. Always place candle on a stable, level & heat resistant surface. Observe caution as glassware may become very hot.
